Man Wins $4 Million After Assault By Chicago Police

I think the Chicago police officer who assaulted this man should go on trial for sexual assault, and when found guilty he should have to register as a sex offender. What kind of sick human being puts a screwdriver into someone’s rectum?

I am glad that the man will receive $4 million. He deserves every penny of it.

    Wow!
Quite the story. How much do you want to bet that an appeal is in the works? I find it hard to believe that the police would willingly let such a precedent and black eye to them stand. Thank God that Coffie had the fortitutde to follow through with a four year legal ordeal.

Michelle, I agree. But how could they appeal it really, because they agreed before the jury came back that if they decided in favor of Coffie that they would pay the millions. I hope the award stands, but like you, I think they will try to weasel out of it in an appeal.

    Agreed on damages.
    Appeal liability?
    Let’s hope not…
