All the telemarketers in the United States are hoping that you’ll forget to re-register your phone numbers. When you signed up at www.donotcall.gov it didn’t guarantee you would be protected from those annoying calls forever. When you register to be on the “Do Not Call” list, you remain on the list for 5 years, then your registration expires.
So, the “Do Not Call” list was introduced in 2003, so the people who signed up in the early days are due to fall off the list in June.
The easiest solution, and the one I chose, is to go to http://donotcall.gov and re-register your phone numbers. Once you re-register, you’re good for another 5 years. Just don’t let yourself fall off the list or you will never have another meal in peace! Well, at least until you get your number on the “Do Not Call” list again.

Why did they even make it so you have to re-register to begin with, people usually don’t start wanting spam over the phone again so it’d be better if it was made for life.

Slevi, I know. So annoying to have to re-register. They say that lawmakers are now working on making the registrations permanent. I hope they are successful.

You know, I never even THOUGHT about linking up the “Do Not Call Registry” and stompin on the throats of them telemarketing pigs. This is a GREAT IDEA! (Although I still prefer the tried ‘an true “Gasoline and Matches” strategy … )

A list of which states do and do not maintain a separate do not call list, and links to the websites where you can register.
