Goldman Family On Oprah Today

Today on Oprah, she was supposed to have the family of Ron Goldman and the sister of Nicole Brown Simpson on her show to talk about the confessional book “If I Did It” written by O.J. Simpson.

At the beginning of the show there was a clip of O.J. Simpson that I had to watch a couple of times before what he said actually sank in. In the video clip, Simpson said that if he had to work to pay the wrongful death judgment, then he just will refuse to work. He says he’ll play golf instead.

Well, Fred and Kim Goldman were there to defend their motives for publishing the controversial book. I’m just not buying it. I’m not buying the book and I’m not buying their story about why they are publishing the book. They admit that this is not going to give them any peace.

Nicole Brown Simpson’s sister, Denise Brown, canceled her appearance on Oprah’s show at the last minute because she did not want to be on stage with the Goldmans. She is very much opposed to the publication of this sickening book. She did do a taped interview with Oprah before the show and called the Goldmans hypocrites. She urges people not to buy the garbage. Both Brown and Oprah said they would not read the book. Denise Brown calls the book money blood money and says the Brown family doesn’t want a penny of it.

The Goldman’s said that they decided to publish the book that they won rights to after they realized that it was not a manual for murder. They will earn .17 per book that is sold. Not a lot of money, unless millions of copies of the book are sold. I still say they are in it for the money.

Oprah, at the start of the show, basically ripped into the Goldmans and said that she would not have done the show if Denise Brown had not agreed to come on and debate the issue with the Goldman family. She said that she went ahead with the show after Brown canceled because she wanted to keep her word.

The Goldman’s said they are publishing the book in order to punish O.J. Simpson and take away the revenue from him. As I said before, I just don’t believe it. Nothing and no amount of money are going to bring Ron Goldman back. I think the Goldman family is being ridiculous and money hungry.

Marcia Clark and Christopher Darden were also on the show today. Darden says that O.J. is a twisted individual and threw in a couple of things in the book that the prosecution and O.J. know for a fact are not true. Clark and Darden both say that the book is defamatory to the deceased Nicole Brown Simpson. Apparently in the book, O.J. attempts to justify the murders.

I know some people will buy the book. I will not and I’m glad Oprah made a point on her show to say that she did not want to promote the sale of the book in any way.

I also will not buy the book, but I do feel sorry for the Goldman’s.

On a side note, what did Marcia Clark do to her face. Too much plastic surgery I guess. I heard that she and Chris Darden are no longer speaking, but they seemed okay to me. Anyone else hear this?

I feel sorry that the Goldmans lost their son/brother to a brutal murder. I just don’t think profiting from it is a really moral thing to do.

Marcia Clark.. wow.. I have no idea what happened with her face. I thought her appearance was quite shocking.

I had not heard of a dispute between Clark and Darden.. or maybe I did but forgot… it’s been so long since I had seen either of them on tv that I may have heard it but forgotten about it.

I agree. What happened to the millions already paid too them under the guise of supporting Sidney and siblings? Getting the book so they can reap the benefits is apalling. Since OJ’s future earnings were tied to the settlement, the Goldmans would have gotten part of that anyways. But to want to publish, distribute, and sale the book under the guise of “punishing” OJ is a load of crap.
    Peace
