A convicted sex offender in Georgia who has twice failed to register with the state sex offender registry is now facing life in prison. The man is homeless and has no address, but that is no excuse under the state law.
Larry W Moore, Jr. took indecent liberties with a child in North Carolina and was convicted in 1994. Georgia’s strict sex offender registration law requires convicted sex offenders to register an address that is not closer than 1,000 feet from schools, day care facilities, school bus stops, public swimming pools and churches. The offenders also have the 1,000 feet restriction for work addresses.
Since this is Moore’s second conviction for not registering as a sex offender, Georgia law mandates an automatic life sentence.
